ABOUT ME:
I am an Associate senior lecturer/Assistant Professor at the Department of Peace and Conflict Research at Uppsala University, Sweden; a Research Associate at the Peace Research Institute Oslo (PRIO), Norway; and a Researcher (part-time) at Södertörn University. My research explores how environmental change, natural resources, and ecological disruption shape peace, conflict, cooperation, and human well-being. Although much of my work focuses on war and post-war settings, my broader research also examines how climate and environmental change influence governance, trust, cooperation, and health across a range of contexts.
During my PhD and early career, I was affiliated with the Research School on International Water Cooperation and the Center on International Water Cooperation, the first UNESCO Category II center focused on water for peace and development, hosted by the Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI). I am also an affiliated researcher with the Swedish Centre for Impacts of Climate Extremes (climes), an interdisciplinary research platform that studies how climate extremes affect people, ecosystems, and infrastructure.
